January just snuck up on Priddy Priddy...

I know its not Spring yet but I planted this old up-cycled basket with bulbs at Christmas and look what I have!

It's a cheery wink by the front door.

I should hang my head embarrassed at the lack of blogging but I've been just so busy here in the real world.

On the 23rd December 2015 I became a Grandma for the first time, my eldest daughter gave birth to the most beautiful little girl.
My head still spins and I literally could pop with pride at what a wonderful mama she is.

I've spent time at the Florists workshop lending a hand over the busy Christmas season...

Lots of beautiful wreaths, I spent weeks smelling of a green woodland rolled in orange and cinnamon!

Loving every minute of the workshop, its a draughty old barn but the smell of the eucalyptus more than makes up for that.

Add to that mix birthdays, Christmas, candles, New Years, back to school/college, snow, decorating...
...well you know how it goes...

but here I am back at the keyboard.

I've been managing to keep a few bits up on the Etsy shop
the new paint of the wall shows off the Vintage Mirrors so nicely...

and I just need a few days of good lighting to get a few more of them listed.

My most favourite listing recently is this beautiful, HUGE Blue Bird tin...

Sunny days...

Oh hasn't the weather been amazing!?
Yesterday the hottest 1st July ever recorded here in the UK...
I have to confess I did whinge a bit yesterday, even the wind was like a warm hairdryer!

But it has given me the excuse to tuck myself away in the shade and catch up on a few bits.

Saturday just passed we were at a Garden Party Fundraiser for the Primrose Unit.
It was glorious weather.
I only took a few things along as I wanted to enjoy the event/atmosphere.

I did worry that the Beardy Bobs Soy Wax Candles might melt in the heat but they held on through even the hottest midday sun

I was assisted by my helper, whose rates were quite reasonable
...as much ice-cream as we could both manage!

I've also taken the time to take a few snaps and list a few bits over on Etsy

'Kev' the donkey may just be my favourite, but this little deer has been giving me the big brown eyes for attention...

and amongst other things a few pretty and kitschy tins have found their way onto Etsy

The weather has taken a cloudy break so no more photo's but I will be listing a few ready to ship Beardy Bobs Candles over the next few days

HAPPY WEEKENDING

Keep your eyes peeled for a few pretty things going onto Etsy in time for Christmas.

I still have LOTS of Beryl and Jasmine utility ware, tins and perhaps a couple of pretty linens for the Christmas Table?

Tins? Addiction or Collection?...

How many tins does one person need?

Far less than this one person covets!!

A few that I can bear to part with...
getting ready to be listed on etsy this this week

eeek!

a few faves...

I really like the Jacksons tea tins, handy size

Struggling to let these two go, I have a couple of tins for my crochet hooks, scissors etc. for travel the same of the one on the left and they're perfect.
The one on the right is just so folksy/scandi/retro
*sigh*

I really do love that blue Jacksons tin!

Cute doggies, the one to the right is another 'crochet' tin

{I'm humming 'Let it go' from Frozen as I type}

...but then the black is pretty lovely too...

{Let it Go}

Christmas Quality Street anyone?...

Turn your back in my house for a couple of minutes and all sorts of things happen...

Chickens make a break for it and take liberties in the flower pots...

and strawberries mysteriously vanish from the garden!

MK March photo's...

Ooops!

Life in the Real World has been hectic...days and weeks passing by in the blink of an eye.

But finally I have a couple of photo's to share from the BIG MK Vintage and Handmade Fair last month.

I sold the suitcase of wonders, which was my 'thing', something that people recognised us by and attracted them to the stall.

This time I needed something new and carrying on from the case it had to be something from stock or home that I had 'done up'

The standard lamp stand is painted to go in my girls room and the shade had been stripped last year and had sat waiting for inspiration to strike!

Add a few JUMBO POM POMS, a trim of pom poms along with a dash of handmade tissue flowers {oh and a couple more pom poms!}

...and...

voila

One totally BONKERS display item!

If I could have had a £1 for every time someone told me how much they loved it or charged for its photo to be taken I could have retired merrily.

It did the trick!

We used the March show a chance to clear the stock that we had taken to more than one show, giving us a chance to start afresh with lots of lovely pieces this year.

That said we also took along a few new pieces, I never have been able to walk past something pretty and vintage
{despite telling myself that I wasn't buying for this show!}

As always I had a selection of Utility China with me, the work horse of any kitchen and the pastel colours are all over the magazines... still standing the test of time

I've a real soft spot for a Vintage Tin...they make for pretty and original craft storage
{my crochet hooks are stashed in some very cute tins}

Then we had the Vintage Kilner Jars that I've stashed in the loft for far too long!
Originally bought for my preserving, I've kept most but still had a lot that year after year I just haven't used so moved them on to stock.

Although I'm not using them I still find it hard to let go of some bits of stock...Linens fall into that group!

I sold 2 of my largest ones
*gulp*
deep breath
still excuse for me to re-stock!

A red suitcase that was a lucky find, it was 1971 and lined with a luxury satin lining
B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L

^can you see it peeking out the front there^

^crafty bits^

All in all we had an amazing weekend, lovely neighbours and super customers!

If you still haven't visited it I can't say it loud enough but you really should try to get there.
The prices are competitive, the assortment from tins to larger pieces of furniture and a selection of handmade goodness from cakes, pickles, jewellery and sewing from pillows to clothing!

It is inside the huge Milton Keynes shopping centre, dry whatever the weather, entry is totally free and there are hundreds of 'high street' shops to browse if you fancy as well as a selection of food stops from Jamie Olivers' to Burger King!

Good things in little things...

You know sometimes you see something, something that really catches your eye?

Mightn't be anything big, usually for me it's the small things...

Most of the time I buy it, convinced I can find a spot for it!  Then it turns out that in our itty bitty tiny house, full to the rafters with people and things, that there really just isn't enough space to either fit it in or do it justice.

So when I spotted these last weekend on my neighbours stall I convinced myself I would use them.
That I would find a spot for them and pop them out on the crafty shelf and use them for 'stuff'!
It's happened to me before, the 'snooze you loose' mentality of a busy Vintage Fair so I bought them...

Aren't they lovely?
I didn't even open them or turn them over, I just picked up 1 then spotted the other and bought them.  Popped them in my suitcase of wonder and forgot about them...

On Monday I unpacked my suitcase of wonder and there they were, looking so cheerfully bright I felt they were smiling.  I opened them up ready for a good soapy wash and look what I found...

The original grease-proof paper inside them both!
But the excitement didn't end there
{remember I am easily pleased}...
Look what I found on the bottom of them when I was washing them up...
This little character is called Mischief and is a trademark drawn by the amazing Mabel Lucie Attwell!
Despite their age the only real wear is a where a stripe of sellotape had been across the top of each lid and that had even brighter colour!

Now how about that then!

I almost popped with excitement as I am falling in love Mabel Lucie Attwell; I know next to nothing about her in all honesty.  I recently picked up a Peter Pan book with her illustrations throughout, I only bought it because of the drawings.

Karma.
These tins were supposed to come home with me, that little worn and grubby book was waiting for me to spot it.

If I lived in the big house I once thought I would live in, then these little beauties would be happily homed.
However I don't live in that big house, as I've said I live in a small house and these little lovelies are now on Etsy

Vintage Fair Fun...

Priddy Priddy Vintage really did have all the fun at the Vintage Fair
{again}

3 days this time....I was a tad apprehensive before we left, but I needn't have worried as we had an absolute ball of a time!

So once again time to share a  few of my favourite photos...

Our stall was if I say so myself packed to the brim with lots of goodies and looking non too shabby

We stood out with a lovely selection of painted furniture
view from John Lewis cafe

It's always hard to pick my favourite on the day as I genuinely love everything I sell
but these little beauties have been to almost every show and finally sold this time around

The Vintage sugar shaker I wanted to keep also sold...yes I know that's the idea but darn it I had my eye on it!

I also put a couple of my favourite tins out, which not surprisingly didn't stay on the shelf for long

this beautiful bedspread is huge and all handmade...stunning

This lovely little bureau came home with us...if I had charged a £1 for every time someone said how lovely it was and opened/closed it I could have double the weekends takings...
it's all good though as one of my daughters, Lolly, has earmarked it for her study desk...
and I have a lovely Ercol chair to go with it
{but shh I haven't told her that bit yet!}

that bread bin got about a bit!

*sigh*
I do love a Vintage Linen {or two}

perfect Christmas hampers
{I don't think we bought any baskets home again}

Vintage pressed glass; sturdy, functional and yet still so very pretty...

It was a fantastic Fair....3 days all heaving with people and every day different in terms of what was popular

Thank you to all, just over 100 of you, who stopped to buy a little something from us
to those who stopped by for a natter, too many to count
to my lovely neighbourly stallholders
and to MKHandmade & Vintage for once again putting on an amazing show!

2012 has been quite amazing for us
Lots of love from the girls
