Tins? Addiction or Collection?...

How many tins does one person need?

Far less than this one person covets!!

A few that I can bear to part with...
getting ready to be listed on etsy this this week

eeek!

a few faves...

I really like the Jacksons tea tins, handy size

Struggling to let these two go, I have a couple of tins for my crochet hooks, scissors etc. for travel the same of the one on the left and they're perfect.
The one on the right is just so folksy/scandi/retro
*sigh*

I really do love that blue Jacksons tin!

Cute doggies, the one to the right is another 'crochet' tin

{I'm humming 'Let it go' from Frozen as I type}

...but then the black is pretty lovely too...

{Let it Go}

Christmas Quality Street anyone?...

Crafting Goodness...

I refuse to accept that I am the only person who struggles to find the perfect finish!
I uhm and ahh over the small stuff.  Finding the right, the 'perfect' trim for the frilly fru fru knickers lampshade is taking time...
However I may just have found the right one, a lovely 6" Charleston trim!
...alas for me though it abides in a shop where I get my crochet yarn from.

This can only be a sign from the crafty goddesses that I should make an additional purchase - right?

So I find myself with a lovely bundle of yarn
{acrylic - functional not fancy}
as well as a couple of metres of trim.

I shouldn't have, but I did!

Whoopsy

So what will I do with this bag of wool?
Well a couple of the balls are due to make a dent on my 'Fortnum and Mason' blanket...the rest however...

I think I will start a new ripple blanket for one of the older kiddos, probably one for my eldest.
They all keep nagging me for their very own one, my eldest son has declared the 'super duper' blanket I made last year to be his on the cold nights, truth is we all fight over it!
This is the blanket folded in half!
It's approx 7' wide by 6' long
I used the Attic 24 ripple pattern and found myself doing a line or two a day, every day for quite a while.
Each colour row used a ball of yarn.

Im not a great crocheter, I mean I love it, I love crocheting, but in all honesty I've never really tried to follow a more complicated pattern.

So next week should see a little tah-dah post on the frilly fru fru lampshade.
Fingers Crossed!

Crochet Stool Cover...

I bought last year a battered old stool with a view to tidy up, paint and sell.  Then I found a blog where the very talented blogger crochets covers for old stools and thought that a very cool idea...so I popped the stool back in the shed, awaiting its very own little crochet cover.

Jump ahead a year and the latest edition of Mollie Makes landed on my mat this Saturday...I settled down in the comfy chair, turned on selective hearing (tuned the kiddos out) and began to flick through.  And what do you think I spotted in there?  Yep you got it a beautiful little crochet cover for a lovely old stool!

It was the kick up the butt I needed...so I fished out the stool from the shed, sat in the sun on Sunday and began to twiddle...

Obviously I had to have a cuppa...and entertain the kiddos and ensuing cooking, washing, tidying etc

I finished it last night once the kiddos went to bed,
finished photos of the stool with it's lovely cover to follow later
