♥ Paintovers & Pottery ♥

♥Good things come in twos!♥

Starting with these two lovely Ercol chairs
circa 1960s/1970's
Im no furniture expert but I believe they are made of teak

Lovely classic lines
Painted once again with beautiful Annie Sloan chalk paints, 3 coats to be exact and finished with a clear wax, every so slightly distressed on the edges.

Next up...
two gorgeous heavy handmade wooden shelves
These were stained dark but have been sanded and once again given 3 coats of A.S. chalk paints
A perfect pair

And finally, the best till last perhaps...
Sandygate Pottery
Polka Dot Heaven

All going on Etsy this coming week and what remains unsold will be coming to the Stony Stratford Vintage Market on the 26th November...

and remember I offer a free delivery service within 10 or so miles of HP13, I also live just off the M40 motorway if you fancy picking one of these gorgeous bits up...

Today I have been...

Realising that you can't keep every bit of stock you pick up...no matter how usefull, pretty, quirky, handy or just downright gorgeous any of it is!
Accepting that you cannot keep every paintover you do...including the two shelves & Ercol chairs that are being held hostage in the shed
Regretting falling in love with the recent linens that have found sanctuary here and not happy that they 'may' go to market & not come home for Christmas
Agreeing with people when they say how lucky I am to be able to 'play' with the stock...one of the perks is that you can 'showcase' the stock around the house
{hubby is convinced I'm just trying to sneak things into the house disguising them as stock}
{{as if I would!}}

♥sigh♥

I'm enjoying this vintage malarky!

Sandygate 1950's pottery...

My camera is no longer {sigh}
So...I can't show you the 2 gorgeous polka dot tea cups & biscuit saucers (not sure what to call them really, saucers with room for a cake, bicci or sarni?)
You wont for the time being see the lovely pastel green & yellow, how cute they are and how darned usable such cuteness is!!

I thought such things were a modern design (think Nigella Lawson)

And it would seem to be quite unusual as I have trawled the tinternet and can only find 1 link to a photo
{worth nipping over to the link lots of lovely 1950's bits there}

So for the time being they are bringing a smile to me when I look at them...hopefully I can get a photo of them on here in the hope they will give you a smile too!

♥ October's ♥ Vintage Fair in photo's...

Less chat more photo's!
The hall was immense, there were 80 stalls there to fill and it looked gorgeous and had a real buzz to it

We left home at 5.30am and didn't get back till 9.30pm
An incredibly long day but oh so worth it...

We arrived nice and early (7am!) and were looking good by the time the doors opened at 9am

Can I pick out one item or piece that I loved more?
Nope...loved it all!

We were sat right outside John Lewis and you could see us from the cafe upstairs

We had a fantastic day out...Thank You to everyone who popped by and said hello!
We kept a few special bits by for the Stony Stratford Vintage Fair which is set to happen on the day they turn  their Christmas lights on!
I'm not sure if I'm more excited about the lights or the Fair!!
More about that date to come soon...

One final picture before I go
