Mirror Mirror...

I so wanted to show you some lovely arty photo's of my latest little paint over.
It's been so lovely to bring this one back to life...if mirrors could tell a story what would this tell?
Would it tell the story of a new bride and show the family and life that it watched unfold sharing the joy & the little girls copying mama applying their rouge and lipstick?

This found me recently looking the little worse for wear...

I wish I had the home & space to re-home this for me...it is lovely.

But the thing with home schooling is that you are never alone and once the camera is spotted it takes less than a click of the lens for this to ensue...

So whilst I would like to show you this sort of thing...
Indies 2 tier cake stand
My first attempt to make my own cake stands - yay success!
Well I'd like to use it on the dresser to hold my favourite bits of jewellery but I'd happily have High Tea for 2 with it.   Enough room for a couple of trimmed sandwiches on the bottom and a couple of delicious cupcakes on the top.
yum...

Or this...

Can you see the lovely mirror peaking from the back?
Stripped back to her bare bones, sanded and the brass work polished (not gleaming but no longer rusty)
She has been given 3 coats of  cream Annie Sloan paint and waxed to seal.
All the original fixings have been put back on and she once again has a sense of beauty, she looks like an old girl but she's wearing well & with dignity.
The little 1960's teak side table painted with the ever lovely Annie Sloan paints, perfect size for the side of a bed maybe? Or as I've had use of it for a few days now to hold the evening cuppa?

I have  much more of a chance snapping this sort of thing...

Lloyd Loom...

Can I turn this into something pretty?

Of course I can!
It's already a little beauty, it's just wearing a tad too much paint at the moment.

This has had a whole heap of use in the clean up of this little gem

and already it's looking improved
{honestly}

I'm not usually a pink girlie but this little beauty is crying out to sit in a pretty little bedroom somewhere so will be turning a shade of pink this weekend...
to match the 1930's bedside cabinet I'm just finishing
photo's of that later once the waxing is done!

A taste of things to come...

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments!
It really warms the cockles of my heart to hear from so many other vintage lovers.

Now a while back I mentioned that I needed to take photo's...LOTS of photo's but then we had the Vintage Fair and many of the little beauties didn't make it home with us.

But today the sun was shining and boxes were emptied (not all of them but a few)

and I promise you the wait is worth it...

A little taste of good things to come...

The Etsy shop will be updated Thursday...all our little beauties are fairly priced, vintage doesn't have to mean expensive!

We have a few lovely 'vintage inspired' and quirky new bits to show you as well.

Ceramic 'tetra pak' milk jug/carton

Ceramic 'tetra pak' cream jug/carton

The paint brushes came out to play but you really will have to wait a few days to see that loveliness!!

Stony Stratford photo's...

Oh we had the most fantastic day...
^^^
did you spot the o-so-cute granny trolley that was rescued from the dump...filthy, in need of a LOT of TLC and transformed with a can of spray paint, a bit of gingham and a lot of elbow grease into a head turning shopping trolley!

Oodles of gorgeous goodies
The weather was a bit windy and overcast but it stayed dry!

The vintage inspired old school milk bottles brought back lots of memories

The pretty Baret Ware vintage tin which I was so genuinely sad to sell
A few of our vintage linens, most of them didn't make it home with us and were re-homed to be loved

The button selection went down well...lots of happy crafter's passed our way

Super Stripey straws

If you have the chance to make it to Stony Stratford keep an eye on their website for the next date it is so worth a trip over.
